Pride Care Ambulance strives to make a positive impact in the communities we serve. Some highlights of community involvement this year are:
Spring 2010
-Successfully trained the City of Portage and Kalamazoo Township Fire Departments in PHTLS
-Wrote a letter of support for Texas Township Fire Department, helping get a millage passed for 24 hour fire coverage
-Held the most well attended EMS Day Celebration in Kalamazoo
-Participated in the Berrien County 2010 Senior Expo
Summer 2010
-Participated as a display ambulance at the Westwood Ice Cream Social
-Partnered with Kalamazoo Township Fire Department to offer Community CPR/Basic First Aid to almost 100 Township residents
-Participated as a display ambulance at Northwood Fire Station�s Safety Day event
-Introduced our new Pride Care ambulance and Major to area residents Glad-Peach Festival and Parade in Coloma
-Provided ambulance coverage for assigned days at the Van Buren County Fair
Fall 2010
-Provided Shuttle Service for the Kalamazoo Home Expo as well as Senior Expo and introduced our new mascot, Major, to almost 14,000 attendees
-Held a Fall Festival at the Mountain Road base in Coloma for all employees and municipalities that we service
-Provided ambulance coverage during local football games in 5 school districts
-Sponsored �Home for the Holidays� providing complimentary Care-A-Van transportation for nursing home residents to spend Thanksgiving Day with family & friends
-Provided a booth at the North Berrien Fire Arts & Crafts Show
Winter 2010
-Participated in the City of Kalamazoo Holiday Parade
-Provided a decorated ambulance and took part in the Dowagiac Candlelight Christmas Parade and the Bangor Annual Christmas Parade
-Provided Christmas Light Viewing Bus Tours throughout December for nursing home residents in 3 counties
Ongoing
-Provided standby coverage for hundreds of community and sporting events
-Provided Blood pressure clinics to numerous assisted living facilities
-Gave tours of ambulances and career day speeches to numerous schools and Boy Scout Troops
-Participated in numerous parades and Safety Day events in all 5 counties Pride Care services
Pride Care and CEMS Form Merger to Become the Largest Ambulance Provider in Southwest Michigan
This morning the CEMS Medical Transport crews officially reported to Station 6 for their shift.
CEMS voluntarily eliminated all tax subsidies from the City and Township of Coloma.
Portage Firemen recieve PHTLS certification from Pride Care's Education Department
