Mr. Bill Mears - Chief Executive Officer 

Bill Mears began his career in the Pre-Hospital setting in 1990, joining the local Volunteer Fire Department in a small town outside of Rockford Illinois. In 1994 Bill became an EMT-Basic in Illinois, moved to Rockford and went to work for TEK Ambulance, Inc. servicing the Chicago and the Chicago suburbs.  In May of 1996 Bill became a Licensed Illinois Paramedic.  During the massive consolidations of ambulance companies in the 90’s, TEK Ambulance was bought by MedTrans Ambulance a subsidiary of Laidlaw. 

During the transition of local ambulance service to the conglomerate now known as American Medical Response, Bill left MedTrans to help begin a new service called A-TEC Ambulance, Inc. While with A-TEC, Bill held many positions including Critical Care Paramedic, Station Manager, Director of Sales & Marketing and Vice President of Operations.

During the last 5 years of Bill’s service at A-TEC, the Organization had its most profitable years of their existence.  Bill held the position of Vice President of Operations until leaving to take his current position with Pride Care. 

 

Ms. Becki Russon - Director of Operations

Ms. Russon has held several positions at Pride Care, starting out as a dispatcher in 1985.  Ms. Russon went on to serve as a Paramedic, subsequently becoming a Shift Supervisor and then Dispatch Supervisor.  In 2001, Ms. Russon became General Manager for Pride Care Ambulance. 

Ms. Russon holds a Bachelor’s in Social Work from Michigan State University and obtained her EMT license from KVCC.  Ms. Russon went on to obtain her Paramedic license from Davenport College in 1986 and is still a licensed paramedic today.
